We have an exciting announcement! Your music teachers have been busy preparing the fifth-grade students for the inaugural Fifth-Grade Music Festival at Mountain House High School Theater. This performance replaces the previous evening site fifth-grade concerts.

  • The concert is scheduled for Friday, March 20th. Altamont, 11:30pm
  • This performance will be a walking field trip
  • Your music teachers for this concert are: Michael Winer, Kirstan Hilton, Nicole Rhien, Sharaya Galbraith, Ryan Abdelmalek, Michaela Aimone, and Gavin Downing. These teachers will communicate concert dress and music expectations with their students. 
  • Your point of contact for this concert is me, Susan Heinrich.  I will be running the festival and coordinating the details.
  • Fifth Grade Classroom teachers are responsible for walking (or riding the bus) with their students from their home site to the Mountain House High School Theater, sitting with them in the audience, and returning to the home site with them. All activities will occur during the school day's normal schedule.  Please use the attached permission form for this in-district field trip. See the attached schedule for your site's arrival times.
  • High School volunteers will serve as escorts for students upon arrival at the High School Campus.
  • Large Instruments (String Bass, Baritone) will be provided at the high school for students. Students are expected to roll or carry the other instruments to the high school. We can address any other instrument concerns on an individual basis.
  • This concert will feature a combined band, a combined orchestra, and a combined choir from two sites at a time. This will give students a unique, large-group performing experience and the opportunity to watch other groups perform in the high school theater.
  • If your students will be off campus at lunchtime, Melissa Hartvigsen is arranging for them to receive box lunches to eat on your campus before or after their trip. 
  • I am attaching a concert flyer for you to share with parents. We encourage them to attend this festival and see their child's performance.
